Cataraqui Region
Watershed Conditions Bulletin

Kingston - The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (CRCA) advises residents of the region that water levels will be rising over the next week.

This advisory is based upon Environment Canada predictions of above-zero temperatures and rainfall causing the snow pack to melt. Localized flooding may occur from blocked culverts, constrictions in waterways and ice jams.

Caution should be exercised near watercourses. Stream banks will be slick and ice may be unstable. The water is cold and flows are often faster than they appear. Parents are encouraged to supervise their children.

The CRCA continues to monitor stream flows and watershed conditions as part of its flood forecasting and warning mandate. Flood forecasts will be updated daily throughout this snow melt event on the CRCA Flood Forecasting Hotline: (613) 546-4228 ext 503.
