Terence Dickinson to speak at Little Cat on May 3

Kingston - Respected science writer Terence Dickinson, who specializes in astronomy, will speak May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Outdoor Centre at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area.

He will repeat his popular 2005 address entitled Exploring the Night Sky.

An area resident, Mr. Dickinson has more than one million copies of his 14 books in print in three languages. A popular speaker, he has addressed more than 100 professional societies, universities, colleges and astronomy conventions throughout North America.

He is editor of SkyNews, the national astronomy magazine of Canada, and is a regular commentator on The Discovery Channel and CBC Radio, according to the Firefly Books website. Firefly distributes his books.

Mr. Dickinson has been honoured with more than a dozen national and international science writing awards.

This event is a fundraiser arranged by the Cataraqui Conservation Foundation. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students and $5 for children.
The foundation raises money for the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority's outdoor education program and for acquisition of ecologically sensitive lands.
