The Cataraqui Source Protection Committee is hosting a series of open houses to get ideas and suggestions from the public on our work plan for drinking water source protection.
Our work plan, or terms of reference, will determine what will be studied and which areas will be examined as we work towards preparing a plan to protect drinking water sources. This is a long-term process to be completed by 2012.
“Preparing this work plan is an important step towards developing a source protection plan,” said Rob McRae, Project Manager. “It provides us with an overall direction for the studies we will be conducting over the next several years.”
The open houses are scheduled from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. with a presentation at 7:00 p.m. Please drop by and talk to our staff and Source Protection Committee members about our work plan and learn about drinking water source protection.
The public is welcome to attend any of the following open houses:
“We’re hoping that people will come out, learn more about drinking water source protection and start thinking about the future of water supplies in their communities,” added McRae.
You can also view and make comments on the draft work plan by visiting the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority office at 1641 Perth Road, Glenburnie from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday or by visiting the CRCA website at www.cataraquiregion.on.ca.
