The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority wishes to advise that the trails on the west side of Gould Lake in Gould Lake Conservation Area are not accessible at this time due to the washout of the boardwalk on Trail 1.
Trail 1 provides the only link to all of the trails in the western part of the Conservation Area. It is also the main Rideau Trail.
The boardwalk was washed out by the collapse of a nearby beaver dam. This has also pushed debris out into the lake creating potential hazards for boaters.
It may be some time before the boardwalk can be replaced. The trails on the east side of the lake are still open and accessible to hikers.
