Cataraqui Conservation Foundation invites submissions for student award

The Cataraqui Conservation Foundation is pleased to invite submissions for their inaugural Latornell Symposium Student Award.

This award will allow one post-secondary student from Queen's University, Royal Military College or St. Lawrence College to attend the A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium from November 19 to 21 in Alliston, Ontario. The award includes registration fees, meals and accommodation for the symposium, as well as travel to and from the symposium.

The A.D. Latornell Conservation Symposium was started in 1993 to provide a forum for conservation staff, students, academics, non-government organizations and politicians to share ideas, tools and strategies for managing natural resources.

Application for the Latornell Symposium Student Award should be in the form of a maximum two-page letter to the Cataraqui Conservation Foundation providing:

The deadline for applications is September 30, 2008.

The successful student will be selected at the October meeting of the Cataraqui Conservation Foundation. The student will be required to make a presentation at a future Foundation meeting about their attendance at the Symposium.
