The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority is issuing a flood bulletin for its jurisdiction between Napanee and Brockville, north to Athens.
Environment Canada is forecasting snow or rain Friday night (Jan. 20) and Saturday. Temperatures will hover around the freezing mark. High water and unsafe conditions are possible, although large-scale flooding is not anticipated.
Rain on frozen ground may cause ponding in low-lying areas. There is a risk of localized flooding in waterways, particularly near culverts. Road closures are possible.
Residents are advised to avoid streams, storm water management ponds, reservoirs and lakes. Ice cover is unstable and in most cases is unsafe to cross.
