Nature Program for Early Learners 2012-2013
The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority offers quality alternative conservation education programs for preschool age children (21/2 to 5 years old). The nature program integrates social, emotional, cognitive, and physical developmental skills. LocationPrograms take place at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area (2 km north of Hwy. 401, Division Street, Kingston).Times and DatesThe Nature Program for Early Learners is from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays or Wednesdays on the dates below. Our Conservation Education staff will meet participants outside in front of the Outdoor Centre at 1:00 p.m. sharp.Parents must choose between the Tuesday or Wednesday sessions. Session 1 - Tuesdays September 18, 2012 - Incredible Insects Session 2 - Wednesdays September 19, 2012 - Incredible Insects FeesThe Nature Program for Early Learners is $56.00 + HST exempt ($7.00 x 8 visits). Refund policyOnce the program has started, there are no refunds. Participants are encouraged to find a replacement if they are unable to take part in the 8 visits.Program DescriptionBased at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area, children together with their parents experience the great outdoors through songs, stories, puppets, hiking and exploration. All activities have a conservation education focus.Qualified and experienced instructors will teach children ages 21/2 to 5 about nature and conservation. Children will come away with new nature skills and a greater connection to the natural world. This is a parent accompanied program with younger siblings welcome. |
